Moving Arts Dance Center Move Update
The move is going slow but fast all at the same time! We are under a tremendous time pressure, but are accomplishing SO much in such a short period of time!
We are extremely grateful to everyone who have come out to help! When we are finished you will have had a hand in the legacy of building this dance center, and you (and your child) will be proud of what you have accomplished on behalf of our whole community!
Below is the list of when/where we need help now. If you are available to help and have not already signed up for a project, we have several to choose from. We can use help every day right now, even if you just have an hour skilled or not!
This is where we are:
- We are ready for those who signed up to be lead designers to consult with us and those who signed up to paint to begin the wall prep
- Bathrooms are ready to paint (inside and out) and the tile is ready to be laid
- We will have donated bathroom sinks arriving soon and need someone to install them
- Drywall will go up tomorrow, then we'll tape and mud
- We still need someone to try to get overhead moulding donated for the large studio/theater area
- Lobby is ready to lay the tile
- We will be ready to install light fixtures, emergency lights and exit signs right away
- We'll be ready for the painters to prep the walls by Wednesday
- We hope to install the dance floor this week
- With luck we'll be ready to start to unpack next weekend.
- We always need help cleaning! Construction is messy!
