DANCE TRAINING at
Moving Arts Dance
Moving Arts Dance is an unusual school of dance. As a non-profit organization, the dance center is run as a school rather than a business. With a humanitarian vision, Moving Arts Dance faculty teach professional tenets of dance to every age and every level.
At the MAD Center, students learn all aspects of dance technique and performance that are necessary to a career in dance, based on the university model of training the whole person. In the course of training, students learn Dance Theory, Dance History, Kinesiology, Pilates, Dance Therapy, Injury Prevention and Treatment, Performance Preparation, Nutrition, and Stage Make-up.
PHILOSOPHY OF TRAINING
Students at Moving Arts Dance are trained to become gracious individuals, with a high degree of self-discipline. Dancers are valued and rewarded for their effort, and every dancer receives performance opportunities based on their ability to work hard. Embraced as a member of our dance family, all students are trained to develop the skills necessary to be a valuable team member.
• Dancers can take any technique class whether they are enrolled in a performance training or not.
• Dancers must be enrolled in technique class to enroll in the associated performance class.
• There are full-time and part-time memberships available in the performance companies.
• The training at Moving Arts Dance is academic in nature, giving dancers a well-rounded education in dance. We request that students are not absent, as students who are absent miss valuable information that must then be repeated and thus absences hold back the entire class.
• To encourage a student body of like-minded, dedicated students who wish to work hard and thus improve quickly, once-a-week classes are available on Saturday only.
